Eric Lee is an author, historian and labour activist. He spent over thirty years researching various aspects of Georgian history. His books on Georgia include The Experiment: Georgia’s Forgotten Revolution 1918-1921 (2017) and The Night of the Bayonets (2020). In May 2022, he was awarded a Doctor Honoris Causa from Ilia State University in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Eric Lee is a writer and historian. The founding editor of LabourStart, the news and campaigning website of the international trade union movement, he has also authored a number of books about twentieth century history. Three of those books are about Georgia -- The Experiment: Georgia's Forgotten Revolution 1918 - 1921; Night of the Bayonets: The Texel Uprising and Hitler's Revenge, April - May 1945; and most recently, The August Uprising 1924: Georgia and the Birth of Democratic Socialism. All those books are available in Georgian, English and other editions. He is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and lives in London.
