Lela Shubitidze
Lela Shubitidze is a historian by education, although she has worked in cultural and literary management since 2006. From 2006 to 2011, she was the artistic director of the “Caravani” literary café, one of the most successful literary venues in Tbilisi. ‘’Caravani” was recognised for its literary meetings and projects by the magazine Hot Chocolate (Tskheli Shokoladi), which named her ‘Person of the Year’.
Since 2012, she has worked at the Writers’ House of Georgia, first as PR and project manager and later as deputy director. She is the author and organiser of numerous local and international projects run by the Writers’ House of Georgia. Notable projects include Tbilisi International Festival of Literature, Litera Literary Prize, Litera Translation Prize, David Sarajishvili Memorial Museum, Museum of Repressed Writers in the Regions of Georgia, Writers’ House for Schools in Shida Kartli’ project, and the ‘Georgian Magazines and Newspapers during the First Democratic Republic (1918–1921)’ exhibition.
