Adam Zamoyski (Polish)

Adam Zamoyski is a British historian of Polish ancestry. His books include the best-seller 1812: Napoleon’s Fatal March on Moscow, its sequel, Rites of Peace: The Fall of Napoleon and the Congress of Vienna, and an acclaimed biography of Napoleon, as well as other works on key figures and aspects of European History. His comprehensive history of Poland, The Polish Way, not only featured in the best-seller lists for several weeks, it remained in print for decades and its updated version, Poland: A History, is still the standard concise work on the subject. Along with his other books, it has been translated into many languages. Zamoyski has contributed to all the major British papers and periodicals and has lectured widely, in Britain, Europe, the United States and Australia. He lives in London and Poland with his wife, the painter Emma Sergeant.
